We believe that there is a story to be told in every bottle of wine, and within each bottle, lays the path to an incredible journey.
Wine, like music, can be nuanced, beautiful, complex, raucous, or just plain enjoyable. It can bring both intellectual and hedonistic pleasure, but most importantly, wine has the ability to bring people together. Some of our most enriching experiences and warm memories center around family, friends, and a kick-ass bottle (or two, or three) of wine.
We believe that quality rather then quantity matter. That is why we strive to bring you, our new friends and fellow wine lovers, the best there is when it comes to the ever changing world of wine. We gravitate to the little guys, like us, who show great passion for their craft. We believe in relationships. Through our enthusiasm, service, and true desire to know you and your palate, our hope is that Swirl becomes not just a pit stop, but a gathering place sans judgement, for a wine adoring community to explore their senses and create friendships. Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino '04

My tastings of the 2004 Brunellos are now complete, and one wine stands apart. On its own, this Brunello is one of the top wines of the vintage. The Brunello di Montalcino from Il Poggione is awesome. This finessed, regal Brunello flows onto the palate with seamless layers of perfumed fruit framed by silky, finessed tannins. The wine remains extremely primary at this stage, and its full range of aromas and flavors have yet to emerge, but the sheer pedigree of this Brunello is unmistakable. The elegant, refined finish lasts an eternity, and subtle notes of menthol, spices, licorice and leather add final notes of complexity. The estate’s 2004 Brunello is a wine to buy and bury in the deepest corner of the cellar. Brunello is never inexpensive, but this is the real deal, and in relative terms, it is one of the world’s great values in fine, cellar worthy wine.

Produced form the indigenous Spanish varietal Airen, this is the perfect fun, playful, palate-cleansing white for those glorious Indian summer days. Yummy!
Nora, Albarino ‘07
Ah, exotic Albarino, this thought provoking varietal possesses a distinctive nose of white preach, nectarines, flowers, and white pepper spice. With a fleshy mouth feel, creamy finish, this beauty pairs perfectly with pork, firm fish, and juicy turkey.
Campo Reales, Tempranillo ‘05
Ripe fruit flavors abound in this ripe and easy drinking red from La Mancha. The balance of fruit, acidity, and soft tannins make this the perfect everyday red.

This charming organically grown Viognier from Isabelle Ducellier is easy to fall in love with. A playful nose of apricots, mangos, melons yields to a creamy finish.
St Andre de Figuiere, Valerie ‘07
Grown in the hillsides above the Mediterranean, this family run vineyard takes pride that everyone has a hand in the business. This is daughter, Valerie’s signature wine, made with a blend of Ugni Blanc, Rolle, and Semillon. Silky yet crisp with fine ripe flavors.
Sexto, Terra Alta ‘05
“Sexto” means sixth in Spanish, referring to the six grapes used to make this juicy red, so get your head out of the gutter. Made by wine pioneer, Laely Heron, who launched Heron Wines about 20 years ago when it was rare to find a woman-owned business in this industry.

Our Swirl 101 wine class is an ideal way to introduce oneself to the world of wine. Let us guide you through the quagmire of wine terminology and grape varietals. The basics of wine tasting, de-coding a wine label, and poplar grape varietals will be explored. Space is limited to twelve Swirlers, so reserve your space now!
Swirl 201: The Nitty Gritty

Each "Nitty Gritty" class will be centered around a more in-depth investigation of a specific region, style or varietal.
